What is Emergency broadband benefit application?

The Emergency Broadband Benefit is a Federal Communications Commission program to provide aid to households who have not been able to pay their internet service charges due to the economic hardships of the Covid-19 pandemic. With this new benefit, eligible families will be able to connect to jobs, critical healthcare services, virtual classrooms, and more.

Each eligible household will receive a $50 per month discount towards the broadband service and Tribal lands will qualify to receive up to $75 per month. Some eligible households will also receive a one-time discount of $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop, or tablet from the participating providers. The EBB is restricted to one monthly service discount and one device discount per household.

To obtain an EBB program application form you can call 833-511-0311 and request a mail-in application or print a copy of the form from the GetEmergencyBroadband.org website.
