For many years when the pandemic was not rolling, NYC DoE Summer Rising application was what students looked forward to. This year the schools decided to go ahead with the Summer program and students need to send in their applications. The Summer Rising enrollment begins only after the application process closes for students.
The city plans to extend the program to 110,000 students to ensure children associate with their seniors, peers, and teachers and learn more about their future. It is a program run in collaboration between the Youth & Community Development Department and New York’s Education Department.
Families can sign up for it until March 25 using their MySchools account. The program will run from July 2 to August 16. For younger kids (kindergarten to fifth grade), it will go from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and for older kids (middle schoolers), it will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The mayor, Eric Adams, says they’ve put extra money into it to make sure kids have a great time learning and having fun over the summer. Steps for NYC DoE Summer Rising Application 2024
Starting from 3 PM on March 4 until March 25, you can sign up for the Summer Rising program. You’ll need to use your NYC MySchools account to apply. If you’re not sure how to find your account information, you can ask your child’s school or visit a Family Welcome Center. They can help you get set up.
The program aims at providing learning to students that can leave them with an enriching experience. Students up to Grade 8 can participate in these programs.
- Once your registration is confirmed, you will receive an email confirmation for the same. It will also consist of a CBO form link that you must fill out before you are enrolled on the first day of your program.
- Find out your grade and click on the Enroll Now tab to start the application process.
- Once you click on the Register tab, you will move to the enrollment process.
- The first part of the form is all about your guardian’s information. Fill in their name, email address, phone number, and complete address.
In the next segment, your guardian will need to add your information.

How to do Summer Rising register?
Student registration for the Summer Rising enrollment is a simple three-step process.
- Visit the nyc.gov/SummerRising enrolment portal and right now only K-8 students are eligible.
- Include your child’s email address where your child’s seat confirmation message can be sent.
- Whenever your child is a public school student, enter the 9-digit student ID number.
- Choosing from different sites is at your disposal and you can choose any, based on your availability.
- If you have two children, you need to register both children separately.
